Youth Programs

The Alberta Young Simmental Association is part of the Young Canadian Simmental Association (YCSA) — one of the leading youth programs in the Canadian cattle industry. The program exists to support young people interested in agriculture and the Simmental breed through education, teamwork, and hands-on experience.
YCSA events and activities provide opportunities for youth to learn more about cattle, participate in competitions, develop leadership skills, and build friendships with other young cattle enthusiasts.
Membership in YCSA is open to anyone 25 years of age or younger, whether or not they own registered Simmental cattle.

Wild Rose Youth show

The Wild Rose Classic is the provincial show of the Alberta Young Canadian Simmental Association (AYCSA). Held annually every July in Stettler, Alberta, this youth-driven event brings together junior Simmental enthusiasts from across the province for a weekend of competition, education, and industry connection.

The show features conformation classes, showmanship, and a variety of junior-focused competitions designed to build skills, confidence, and leadership within the breed. It serves as a key qualifying opportunity for national programs and celebrates the next generation of Simmental breeders.

2026 date TBA.
